The Reader Card is required to access the Reading Rooms.

Ø       Place de la République The "salle d’actualité" (Current Events) Room Located on the ground floor, the Current Events Room provides information pertaining to the written press, general culture as well as a selection of new German titles. The upper floor reading rooms (rooms 1 to 6.)  Here readers can view reference documentation and numerous research periodicals.     Ø       Rue Joffre The Joffre Room Located at 5, rue Joffre, this room unites specialized numismatics, papyrology, Egyptology, cartography, iconography and audio-visual works.   Most of the BNU documentation is not open access in the reading rooms. It is necessary to consult the catalogues to know what the Library collections hold and then to request the work(s) you wish to view (which takes about 45 minutes.) Ordering and reserving can be done on site or remotely (please refer to Remote services.)
