The collective German catalogue of sixteenth-century printed works (named VD16) mentions just one copy, in the collections of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek in Munich. This scholastic edition of the commentaries on the Gospels and Epistles, and on the mass, was written by Hermann van der Beeke, also known as Torrentinus, who studied in Deventer, Groningen and Zwolle, in the Latin school of the Brethren of the Common Life. The book was written for the benefit of priests with little learning.

The woodcut on the title page depicts a tetramorph (with phylacteries) surrounding the monogram of Christ.
