Association of Friends of the BNU

The purpose of the association of friends of the BNU (Association des Amis de la BNU - AABNU) is to bring together everyone (general public, users, institutions, library and documentation professionals) who has the desire to participate in the development of this great public establishment, which is the second most important library in France.

82 The association was created in 1993, as an association governed by local law.  Its first honorary president was Pierre Pflimlin.
Members receive regular, detailed information on the BNU’s activities, its documentary choices, and its heritage acquisitions.

The association also actively supports the BNU’s policy on cultural action and participates in funding major events (such as colloquies and study days).

The AABNU is involved in promoting the BNU’s collections by acting as a relay for information and making the institution better known.

The annual membership fee is 15 euros for ordinary members, and a minimum of 15 euros for benefactor members.
