Director and Assistant Director
The Director for Conservation and the Heritage and the Assistant Director are responsible for the BNU’s early collections, i.e. all the collections kept in the Reserve Stacks (Egyptology, numismatic, manuscript and incunabula collections, etc), old printed documents (printed before 1920), and iconographic documents.
They are in charge of the restoration workshop, the photographic and digitisation service, the book equipment service, and the provision of bibliographical information in the Rue Joffre reading room.
The department comprises the following sections :
Reserve Stacks department, responsible for the most precious collections,
Digital Library department, responsible for coordinating the library’s digitisation and reproduction operations,
Book equipment department, responsible for preparing newly acquired works, minor repairs, the communication of documents in the Rue Joffre reading room, and looking after the heritage stacks,
The current Director for Conservation and the Heritage is Frédéric Blin; the Assistant Director is Gisela Bélot.
